Public Workshops
Two series of public workshops were held as part of the LA County OHV Dialogue. In each series, a workshop was held in four different locations around Los Angeles County for the convenience of participants. The OHV Dialogue advisory committee hosted both series.

During the first workshop series, the public helped to identify issues and ideas related to the prospect of creating new OHV parks in Los Angeles County. The advisory committee used this input for creating a first cut of the draft planning guidelines.

During the second series, the draft planning guidelines were presented for review and feedback by the public. The advisory committee is currently inthe process of fine-tune the planning guidelines with the public’s feedback.

Workshop Series #1
The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation hosted public workshops in four locations around LA County in early February as part of the LA County OHV Dialogue. Environmentalists, OHV enthusiasts, resource agencies, recreation advocates, and community leaders discussed where new OHV parks might be appropriate in the county.  The locations of the meetings were chosen by the direction of the advisory committee to locate meetings near the greatest concentrations of OHV enthusiasts and in general areas that have the greatest potential for future parks.

At these workshops, the participants shared their perspectives on OHV recreation.  Current trends in the sport and how they relate to the Los Angeles Region were also explored.  We discussed if there are opportunities to locate new OHV facilities in Los Angeles County, and where and if they are appropriate.  Input received at the workshops and from the advisory committee will be used to draft the draft planning guidelines.

The public workshops were held in Whittier, Azusa, Castaic, and Littlerock.

The presentation from Workshop Series #1 can be found here.
